Recipe for my family's favorite ~

Frosted Butterscotch Cookies:

{makes about 60 cookies}
preheat oven to 375 degrees

2 1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

stir together, set aside

1 1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c shortning

beat with mixer till combined

2 slightly beaten eggs
1 tsp vanilla

add eggs & vanilla, beat until combined

8 oz. sour cream

alternate adding flour mixture & sour cream
 beating after each addition

drop dough by round tsp 
2" apart

bake for 10-12 minutes

cool and frost 

Frosting

heat and stir 1/2 c butter over med-low heat till golden brown
remove from heat, stir in 3 1/2 c sifted powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla & 5-6 tsp hot water, beat till frosting is 
easy to spread (I use a whisk)

sprinkle as desired
